What qualifications or skills are required for an oilfield job?

 
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • You need to be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or hold an open work visa.
  • A physical capacity assessment and alcohol and drug screening are required.
  • A satisfactory background check is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license is required.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24-hour operation is essential.
  • Must be ready to collaborate as part of a high-performing team.
  • Be aware that some job sites are remote, requiring long-distance driving and residing in man-camps.

How can I stand out as a candidate?

 

Ensign will be particularly interested in those applicants who have:

  • An unrestricted vehicle driver’s license
  • Drilling or similar oilfield experience
  • A background in heavy manual labor jobs
  • A trades background
  • Experience working in a team environment

*Offers of employment may be made upon confirmation that the applicant has the physical capacity to perform the job. This is done by completing a medical and a functional capacity test conducted by a medical facility nominated by Ensign and the cost is borne by Ensign.
