Canadian COR / Partnerships

Ensign Energy Services Inc. Canadian divisions have partnerships in Health and Safety with their respective industry associations.

A Certificate of Recognition (COR) is given to employers who develop and externally audit health and safety programs that meet established industry standards. Certificates are issued by Certifying Partners and co-signed by provincial authorities.


PIR: Partnership in Injury Reduction

Canadian divisions earn regular rebates from the provincial compensation boards. The rebates are based on maintaining a COR’s, improving safety performance from prior years, and improving safety compared to your peer group. The cost savings of course come from sound injury management programs and improving safety performance.

Several EESI divisions have received recognition at WCB of Alberta awards luncheons for exceptional performance in workplace health and safety.

Australian Drilling

The Safety Achiever Business System (SABS) is a specialist program for large businesses looking to implement best-practice safety standards. Based on Australian/New Zealand Standard 4804, SABS provides employers and workers with a systematic approach to the managing safe work, claims and rehabilitation. The Safety Achiever Business System is issued by Workcover Corporation, South Australia.

2006

Ensign Energy Services International again received the Level 3 Certificate. Certification is received after an on site validation of performance by studying documentation, inspecting workpaces and conducting interviews.
Level Three includes:

  • A continuous improvement system is in place
  • Performance is systematically measured, monitored and evaluated
  • The organization regularly reviews its systems and strives to continuously improve
  • OHSW and injury management systems are integrated with core functions of the organization

Work Safe Alberta Awards

Work Safe Award for Innovation in Workplace Health & Safety - 2005

Ensign Energy Services won the 2005 Award of Distinction for Innovation in Workplace Health and Safety, which recognizes the most innovative health and safety initiatives in Alberta workplaces over the previous year. Ensign won for our proprietary Automated Drill Rig ADR™, whose design has eliminated many potential hazards normally associated with drilling operations.


Work Safe Alberta Best Safety Performer Awards

Ensign Energy Services’ divisions have been recognized Large Employer Best Safety Performers. The annual awards recognizes companies that have achieved at least 120 consecutive person years with no lost-time injuries and no workplace-related fatalities in the previous three years.
